How to take norfloxacin Before you start taking the tablets, read the manufacturer's printed information leaflet from inside the pack. Take norfloxacin exactly as your doctor tells you to. The usual dose is one 400 mg tablet, taken twice a day.
Swallow the tablet with a drink of water. This is because your body absorbs less norfloxacin after a meal, which means the medicine is less effective. Try to space out the doses over the day - so ideally, take a dose every 12 hours.

If you experience tendon pain or signs of inflammation of the Achilles tendon stop taking your medicine and contact your doctor and rest the affected limb. Providing you do not have a problem with your heart or kidneys, you should drink plenty of liquid whilst taking this medicine.
These crystals cannot be seen by the naked eye. Drinking plenty of liquid can help prevent this occurring.
If you develop severe and persistent diarrhoea whilst you are taking your tablets or after stopping your tablets you should consult your doctor.

You must tell your doctor if you are taking other medicines that can alter your heart rhythm: medicines that belong to the group of anti-arrhythmics e.
Multivitamins, products containing iron or zinc, antacids or sucralfate should not be taken at the same time as this medicine.
This medicine should be taken either 2 hours before or at least 4 hours after such products. Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility If you are pregnant, planning a family or breast-feeding, tell your doctor before taking this medicine, as it is not recommended for use under these conditions.
